"The Huntington is a real life display of the things that make life worthwhile, the things that add to the pleasure of being alive and that provide hope for the future."
-- R. Stanton Avery, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, 1970-92
The Huntington's Corporate Partners are comprised of a group of distinguished business leaders who have a special interest in the intellectual and cultural activities taking place here. Furthering the mission to promote education and outreach, the Corporate Partners help to make a difference in the community by providing vital support for The Huntington’s ever-expanding programs. These tours and workshops reach over 25,000 school children each year, free of charge. Schools from Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, Santa Barbara, and San Bernardino counties participate.
There are many ways to get your company involved at The Huntington. With over fifty members, our Corporate Partners provide a continuing source of operating support, which is put to immediate use for daily operations, impacting every area of the grounds from our world-class education programs that reach audiences of all ages, to security and maintenance of our 207-acre estate. Our Corporate Partners provide program sponsorship of particular programs or special exhibitions through directed charitable contributions.
Corporate Partners enjoy a number of special
privileges including the opportunity to host private events at The
Huntington (Patron level and above). The membership
also includes executive memberships in the Society of Fellows for your
designated representatives, invitations to exclusive Huntington events,
annual passes for free admission, the ability to reserve free private
guided tours, and recognition on the Donor Wall in our Visitor's Center.

Additional Charitable Contribution Opportunities
A
variety of exciting sponsorship opportunities are available for those
companies interested in supporting specific projects such as admission-free “First Thursdays,” special exhibitions, or our comprehensive
education programs. Becoming a Corporate partner can provide a considerable
level of promotion and public relations that can strengthen your organization’s
image and visibility on many levels. Our staff works closely with our
Corporate Partners to provide prominent recognition, unique special events,
and other promotional planning.
For
additional information about these projects, please contact Randy Shulman
in the Advancement Office at (626) 405-2293 or rshulman@huntington.org.
We
are actively seeking Corporate Partners for the following projects:
"First
Thursdays"
In order to make The Huntington
more accessible to a greater number of people in the community, there is
no admission charge on the first Thursday of each month. The Huntington
hosts over 500,000 visitors each year, and approximately 53,000 (10.3%)
of them visit on First Thursdays. The large audiences that visit on these
days include many families and senior citizens who are considered to have
low or moderate incomes. While the First Thursdays program successfully
introduces many new faces to The Huntington's treasures, the costs associated with offering free admission draws needed resources away from other public and scholarly programs. Therefore, we seek to develop partnerships with foundations and corporations which share Henry Huntington's vision of opening The Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens to all people regardless of their income level.
Education
Programs
The Huntington provides extensive
educational programming for students of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds
through school tours, popular lectures, teacher workshops, and public programs.
Since its pioneering docent training in the 1930s,
The Huntington has sought to advance society's educational goals. Education
and research are implicit in our mandate: "...to conduct an institution
of educational value to the public." The Huntington has persevered in
its mission, providing over 800 school tours in the past year, offering
a diverse audience of 25,000 elementary and middle school students an eye-opening
introduction to art, literature, and nature derived from the four corners
of the world.
Family programs and other informal
education programs are also offered throughout the year on weekends.
Special
Exhibits
The
Huntington is one of the nation's outstanding centers for research in
the humanities. It is also among Southern California's oldest and largest
independent educational and cultural institutions, serving both scholars
and the general public. With the restoration of Mr. Huntington's carriage
house into the MaryLou
and George Boone Gallery in 2000, a world-class exhibition venue was established
that gives us an unprecedented ability to offer a continuing series of
special exhibitions. We are seeking Corporate partners to help underwrite
special exhibitions in the Boone Gallery.
Our
customized and cost-effective sponsorship packages are made with your
objectives in mind, providing your company with attractive benefits. We
will work with you throughout the entire sponsorship process to create
a rewarding and successful partnership.
