STUDENTS

The Huntington grants reading privileges to students of American and Canadian universities who have passed their PhD qualifying examinations and been advanced to candidacy. PhD candidates should complete a registration form and send it, with a letter from their dissertation advisor, to: Reader Registrar, Reader Services Department, Huntington Library, San Marino , CA 91108. The letter should confirm the student's status as a PhD candidate and should describe the nature of the proposed research and the need to consult the Huntington 's collections. It should be mailed with the application form.

 

Once we receive your application packet we will get back in touch with you (by email unless you specify otherwise) to confirm your registration appointment. Please bring your student id and some other photo id, such as a driver's license or a passport, to your appointment.

 

Doctoral students at universities outside the United States and Canada should follow the application procedure for Other Applicants.
